The Toronto
BioTechnology Initiative offers its members, and the
biotechnology community a diverse range of exciting
educational and social programs, designed to provide
high level educational learning sessions as well as
networking opportunities.
Our monthly Breakfast
Meetings run 10 times
per year from January to June, and from September to
December. Generally held in the downtown core,
but with plans to also be offered in the western and
northern areas of the greater Toronto region, each breakfast
session attacts registration levels between 150 and
200, addressing topical issues of interest to senior
biotech leaders, scientists, and students alike.
A more recent program addition for TBI is the creation
of a series of "C-level"
forums, designed to
provide a high level learning and networking venue for
Chief Executive Officers, Chief Scientific Officers,
and Chief Financial Officers of biotech companies.
We generally schedule three Forums each year, two in
the Spring and at least one in the Fall.
The Annual President's Awards Gala has become an important fixture on the biotech calendar for our community. Generally held in mid-February in downtown Toronto, the Awards Gala is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate significant contributions to our sector by outstanding business leaders, community leaders, and long serving volunteers. At the 2006 Gala Dinner, we were honoured to have the participation by the Premier of Ontario, the Honourable Dalton McGunity. Details will be available soon on this site for our 2007 Dinner.
Another popular event on the TBI calendar is the Annual
Golf Tournament.
Held each August, this event always sells out early
and provides an opportunity for our members and their
corporate guests to escape the office and enjoy the
companionship of a day on the links. Great prizes and
plenty of fun. Register early if your are interested
in participating.
